Emily was born in Torrance, California and grew up in Taipei, Taiwan. She began Wushu at age 5 and Taekwondo at 10.  By 14, Emily held a third degree black belt in TKD, which she continued competitively until 18.

Emily’s childhood passion for puppetry ignited her curiosity for all performing arts. Starting with breakdancing, Emily applied her movement skills honed from years of martial arts. She enjoyed the freedom of breaking, of not being confined to preexisting forms; it gave her an artistic outlet for channeling her power, strength, and flexibility.  In high school, Emily started studying all styles of dance, believing that learning as many different ways to move as possible would make her a more creative and original dancer.

Emily came to New York at 18 to pursue a career in the performing arts, double majoring in Drama and Dance at Hofstra University. During this time, her exposure to a pool of new movement disciplines, such as parkour and circus, developed in her a taste for the extreme and for anything that seems humanly impossible.

Upon graduation, Emily worked for the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater as a puppeteer. She simultaneously competed in pole dancing (2015 U.S. National Finalist) and parkour (Sport Parkour League multi-Regional Winner, 2018 and 2019 National Finalist, 2019 USA Parkour Adult Speed Division Qualifier Champion). Emily was also an official member of NYC's legendary Dynamic Rockers Crew, from 2017 to 2019.  Earning the title “Hybrid,” her performance style blends parkour, martial arts, and contortion, and is not confined to any single discipline or style. 

Emily booked her first national commercial with Adidas in late 2016, which highly motivated her to focus on commercial/TV/film work and stunts.  She resumed her martial arts training, adding boxing, muay thai, tricking, and other styles to her film fighting repertoire.

Emily is a go-getter, knows what she wants, and follows her heart. Training hard and always working on her craft, Emily believes real talent will never be overlooked, how you think is how you act, and how you act is how you create your future.
